The Incubarte Association is holding an open call for submissions to the Incubarte VI International Art Festival. The purpose of the art festival is to create a network of diverse, international contemporary artists in the city of Valencia. With a focus on promoting new art trends, Valencia has proven itself to be a fertile ground for visual artists to be exposed to a diverse audience: art critics, artists, and citizens. The exhibition is free and festive, the intent being to overcome the limitations of the institutional art space.
Last year, over 1500 works were submitted and were exhibited throughout the city in a variety of spaces, galleries, and gardens. This year, the Incubarte will include a jury of art gallery directors, critics, and art professionals, who will present prizes to the artists – prizes being exhibition proposals, or offers of representation by the gallery. The curatorial team will award a second Incubarte special prize; selected artists will be invited to participate in an exhibition in a prestigious art space. All artists participating will be included in an illustrated catalogue.
The Festival will be held in Autumn 2013, in the city of Valencia. Artists must submit up to three works and fill out the registration form which can be found on the website
The formal requirements for submissions and details about the selection process can be found here.
The deadline for submissions is July 15, 2013, at midnight.
