Over the last few years, Absolut has commissioned memorable pop-up art bar installations designed by innovative contemporary artists during Art Basel events that provide a full-sensory aesthetic experience, even including customized cocktail recipes. This Art Basel Miami Beach we’re looking forward to seeing their collaboration with Los Angeles-based artist Ry Rocklen, who has envisioned and built his bar theme Night Court. The sporty motif was inspired by Rocklen’s recent furniture line Trophy Modern, fashioned entirely out of old trophy parts, and will be set within a large basketball court.
Rocklen is designing every aspect of the bar, from furnishings to entertainment to drinks. Rocklen has often worked with found objects within new and unexpected contexts, creating stunning sculptural works from discarded detritus. His Night Court bar, which follows critically acclaimed recent installations by Mickalene Thomas, Adrian Wong and Los Carpinteros, will be open each day until 2am throughout the duration of Art Basel in Miami Beach.
