On Tuesday May 27th, WAGMAG, Brooklyn Art Guide – created by artists for visitors to the borough, tourists and locals alike – is bringing together art lovers and art professionals for a benefit evening at Kunsthalle Galapagos in Dumbo.
WAGMAG, Brooklyn Art Guide is a 501c3 nonprofit, and the only Brooklyn art guide that chronicles the art activities of art venues in Brooklyn, on a monthly basis, in print and online. The publication brings together artist communities throughout Brooklyn and champions the innovative spirit of the largely artist-run, often non-commercial artist spaces throughout the borough.
The WAGMAG Benefit will feature approximately 100 pieces of artwork, which have been generously donated by local galleries and artists, available during the raffle portion of the evening. Each raffle ticket guarantees an artwork. Artwork will be selected on the benefit evening by a raffle-style drawing, which determines the order in which ticket-holders make their selection.
The event will be hosted by David Kramer, Lisa Levy, Ethan Crenson and Daniel Aycock. This year’s WAGMAG Benefit will feature one Premium ticket, the ‘Poacher Prize’ valued at $10,000, that allows the purchaser to pre-select any art piece in the room before the raffle begins and have it delivered to their apartment.
Brooklyn Oenology Winery will be presenting a sampling of their local wines featuring Brooklyn artists on the labels.
All proceeds will go towards the operation and production of WAGMAG, Brooklyn Art Guide.
