Berlin Art Link is pleased to present a talk by Robert Lazzarini, as the first in a series of BAL artist lectures. Lazzarini will be presenting an insight into his artistic practice, and introducing his upcoming exhibition ‘Deeper Than Wide’ at DITTRICH & SCHLECHTRIEM. ‘Deeper Than Wide’ continues Lazzarini’s approach of confusing visual and haptic space with a combination of painting and sculpture. The talk will take place on December 17th at 4pm in Berlin-Mitte.
‘Deeper Than Wide’ explores imagery of actress and model Sharon Tate, who was murdered by members of the Manson family in 1969. Lazzarini emphasizes the corporeal participation of the viewer as a way of offsetting stasis in painting and sculpture and as a way of referencing the physical manner of her death. The works combine hard opticality and distorted geometries to suggest the limitations of memory and recall, calling into question the way we gather information from the world around us.
Seats are limited, please RSVP here. We look forward to welcoming you next Saturday.
