The Aarhus Center for Visual Art (AaBKC) is offering a residency programme for international curators of contemporary visual art from May 15 to June 26, 2017.
Based in Aarhus, Denmark—the European Capital of Culture 2017—the residency aims to invite both emerging and established curators (excluding Danish citizens/residents) to live and work in Aarhus, where they will be encouraged to meet and engage with local artists, eventually participating in networking meetings and cultural events.
With opportunities to conduct personal research, explore arts communities, plan exhibitions and develop professional contacts, prospective residents will be required to work with the Aarhus Center for Visual Art staff to develop a programme for the residency with a focus on networking. You will be given the necessary resources to make the most of your time in Denmark leading to longterm professional development. Towards the end of the residency, candidates will be also be required to deliver a 30-minute public talk at AaBKC monthly ‘Art Bar’ networking event.
Living accommodation, desk space, discounted meals and limited travel expenses will be provided within Godsbanen, the cultural production center that houses AaBKC. Residents must cover living and working costs including art materials.
