Berlin-based artist Uwe Henneken is presenting his latest body of work with an exhibition titled ‘Transhistorical Flamingo’ at Meyer Riegger gallery.

‘Transhistorical Flamingo’ is a collection of oils on canvas that convey the notion of jumping from various timelines and between different realities and worlds. The eponymous painting ‘Transhistorical Flamingo’ was actually inspired by the dream of a friend and was created during the election night of the 45th President of the United States. Henneken believes that the pieces in the exhibition represent the idea of a rebirth and he focuses on this concept through the use of flames.

The experience of a dream can never be accurately described or fully articulated in our everyday language and the same holds true for the oil paintings of Uwe Henneken.
