Announcement // Silent Art Auction at Decad

Article by Lisa Birch in Berlin // Monday, Feb. 20, 2017

Decad will be holding a three-hour long ‘Silent Art Auction’ on February 26th, 2017, in association with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). It is the second fundraiser held by Decad, in light of current political issues. Last year they held an event to raise funds in support of the Clinton campaign and this year the gallery will be backing the ACLU’s efforts to contest the Trump travel ban.

ACLU has been fighting inequality and injustices for the past 97 years and they are currently working as a cultural counterforce to the new American administration. The event is a non-profit one and all money raised will be donated to ACLU. The silent auction will take place at the Decad storefront gallery space and will consist of paper-based works of art. Bidding will begin at 50 Euros with a purchase point set at 500 Euros. Teas, coffees, cake, beer and wine will also be available for purchase at the Hinterhaus lecture space.
