Is luck only coincidental, one’s good fortune or the outcome of our actions and decisions? For centuries this notion has been explored by philosophers and artists. Atelier Muse, in collaboration with Galeri BU, asks contemporary artists to expand on this idea of ‘luck’ in their residency program in Istanbul, ‘Tell Me About Luck’. For their Winter/Spring 2018 Program, the Atelier invites artists to contribute to this extensively researched question through performance, installation, new media arts or another specified medium (please mention this in application).
Atelier Muse offers a studio space, accommodation, performance and exhibition organisation, publicity, networking events with local arts community and an abundance of artist assistance in Istanbul. The program is offered for between 2 weeks to 3 months from January to March 2018, for $290 per week. Atelier Muse values the exchange of unique knowledge and creativity with a curiosity and hopes that together with the residency participant they can discover broader definitions and comprehensions of luck.
