From June 16–18, the Berlin districts Prenzlauer Berg, Weißensee and Pankow will become an open-air art gallery. With the aim of making the area’s studios visible and open to the public, ArtSpring 2018 is dedicating an entire weekend to studio practices in the area: some studios have existed for decades, others only a few months. The production of art, which often takes place privately, will become accessible and the artists approachable. In addition, the weekend provides the opportunity for artists working in the open studios to have artwork displayed in Museum Pankow.
The organizers of ArtSpring, Ateliergemeinschaft Milchhof e.V., have been an integral part of the Berlin art and culture scene for more than two decades. With the project and exhibition space Pavilion am Milchhof and their guest atelier, they work to promote and support artists in the area, maintaining and expanding the work opportunities for artists. Milchhof also organized ‘p.art’, one day of open studios in Pankow and, after six years of rest, they are seeking to revive the tradition, now supported by the Department of Art and Culture.
ArtSpring is now calling for artists with studios in Prenzlauer Berg, Weißensee or Pankow to participate in this year’s event. You can register by clicking the Anmeldung 2018 button on their website below.
