For its 12th edition, Pool 18 – Internationales TanzFilmFestival Berlin will present a selection of dance film productions from around the world, creating a meeting place for those in the fields of dance, film, fashion and advertisement. POOL opens space for the exchange of experiences, development, training and production. Focusing on the interplay between dance, choreography and the techniques of film, POOL explores the boundaries and possibilities of the art form.
All choreographers, dancers, filmmakers and artists are encouraged to apply with dance short films and animations. Films should not exceed 30 minutes in length and should not be simply documentation of a dance piece. The POOL 18 jury will create a film program from all submissions and select the winning films, the PEARLS 18. The artists responsible for creating the PEARLS will be honored with prize money. Past winners include Miloushka Bokma (Netherlands) and Adi Halfin (U.S.A.). Selected films will be screened on ikono.tv.
