Apply for a Research Fellowship at KW Institute for Contemporary Art

KW Institute for Contemporary Art is partnering with Volkswagen Group and calling for applicants to receive a two-year VW Research Fellowship that will focus on digitizing KW’s archive for the public. As an institute that celebrates national and international contemporary art trends, KW encourages graduates in the specialized fields of art history, archive studies, library science or related faculties to apply.

For two years (with possibility of a one-year extension), the selected applicant will receive a monthly stipend of 2,500EUR over the course of 24 months. They will focus on the history and influence of KW in Berlin for the scientific preparation, structure and design of KW’s archive. Throughout the fellowship, the fellow will present their research findings through discussions and public workshops, and will strive to make the archives publishable and accessible to all, including other teaching institutes.

Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken German and have permanent residency in Berlin along with prior experience in the field. Applications must be submitted via email and include a project outline as a PDF (max 10MB), brief resume, detailed letter of application and appropriate references. The fellowship will last from Nov. 1, 2018 until Oct. 31, 2020.
