Artists across all disciplines are welcome to apply for a month-long residency in Tehran, Iran to expand their creativity, collaborate and interact with a new culture and environment. Kooshk is calling for non-Iranian artists in order to grow their mission of exchanging creativity and contributing to Iranian contemporary culture with an international team.
For the month of May, visual, performing, sound, music and film artists will live at the Kooshk residency and will be provided with their own space to work independently, while also collaborating with the other residents. Applicants must submit a proposal with work samples, an artist statement and motivation letter. The artists will be judged on competency of the application regarding their resumes but also innovativeness of proposals with outputs and outcomes that correspond with Kooshk’s mission.

Winners of the Kooshk Artist Residency Award (KARA 2019) will immerse themselves in Tehran’s culture and art scene and build connections all while expanding their methods and views of artistic expression through workshops, open studios, and other educational activities.
