The 40th Bergamo Film Meeting will take place from March 26th to April 3rd, 2022. Filmmakers can submit their films to the festival through an online form by December 18th, 2021.
Films can be registered for the Exhibition Competition Section (competitive section dedicated to fiction feature films) or the Close-Up Section (competitive section dedicated to feature-length documentaries). DCP is the format and video system admitted. Films completed after January 1st, 2020, that haven’t been distributed or presented in Italy yet (with exceptions on a case-by-case basis) are eligible for the competition.
The Festival Audience Jury will assign the Bergamo Film Meeting Prize to the best three feature films in the Exhibition Competition Section. The production of the first prize will receive €5,000 (pre-tax). Best Documentary Prize will be awarded for the best movie in the Close-Up Section. The production of 1st prize will receive 2,000 Euros (pre-tax). In Exhibition Competition, the €2,000 Best Director Prize is given by an international jury composed of cinema professionals.
