Weserhalle is announcing an open call for their annual art auction. Artists are invited to submit their work from now until November 1st, via the gallery’s website. All submitted works will be reviewed and the final selection for the auction will be made by the gallery’s team of guest curators, Norbert Bisky and Anna Meinecke.
Norbert Bisky is a successful representative of contemporary figurative painting who lives and works in Berlin and Andalusia. A graduate of Berlin University of Arts and the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, he has also lectured at the Geneva Academy of Art HEAD and the Braunschweig University of Fine Arts. His work has been represented in prestigious collections such as the MoMA in New York and the Museum Ludwig in Cologne.
Anna Meinecke is a graduate of cultural studies, theology, and archeology in Berlin and media studies in Amsterdam. She now works as a freelance journalist and is the editor-in-chief of gallerytalk.net, a German-language contemporary art magazine.
Weserhalle is a contemporary art gallery located in Neukölln. The gallery hosts a selection of events from exhibitions and lectures to performances that have a focus on emerging talents. In this way, the gallery seeks to establish a dialogue within its Kiez and wider Berlin area.
This particular auction occurs every year and is in its ninth edition. It is open to all Germany-based artists. The selected works will be exhibited at the gallery throughout the auction and buying will be made accessible via the online auction at weserhalle.com where the bidding will take place.
