The Art Award of the Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler Memorial Foundation in Rockenhausen (Palatinate) will be offered this year for works on paper. Graduates of an art college or an art academy, members of a professional association of visual artists who have completed their training at an art school, have exhibition or publication experience or have been continuously working in the field of visual design are eligible to apply.
In order to apply, photographs demonstrating the quality of a maximum of three works or one multi-part work should be submitted. The original dimensions of the works must be stated. Photos, conventionally on paper, may not exceed 24 x 30cm including mounts. Multi-part works must not exceed 200 x 200cm each. The works submitted should not be older than three years and must not have been awarded a prize in another competition.
The winners shall be selected in a multi-stage process by a jury of experts composed of Dr. Britta E. Buhlmann, former Director of the Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern, Stefan Engel, artist & board member of APK Schweisweiler, Prof. Hans Gercke, former director of the Heidelberger Kunstverein, Dr. Ines M. Kelly, Foundation of Saarland Cultural Heritage and Prof. Tina Stolt, University of Landau. The award ceremony, where the winner is announced and awarded the prize of 10,000€, is additionally associated with an exhibition at the Museum Pachen, Rockenhausen, which will open on November 27th, 2022 and run until January 22nd, 2023.
