AURORA XR School for Artists is looking for participants for their 2025 Fellowship. Berlin-based artists, collectives and small companies working with augmented, mixed and/or virtual reality are invited to apply to the University of Applied Sciences’ initiative. The program includes workshops, technical support and collaboration with AURORA’s interdisciplinary XR expert team. Candidates across all disciplines are welcome to submit project proposals to be developed during a 10-month long training offered by the school.
Of particular interest to AURORA is research at the intersection of art, science and technology; interactive experiments, social and activist practices as well as investigations of the relationship between XR and AI. Basic knowledge of and first experience with, XR technologies is required. Women, non-binary, queer and trans people, as well as people with a history of migration and/or people of colour are explicitly encouraged to apply.
Candidates are asked to include a motivation letter, a conceptual and practical outline as well as a CV and portfolio in their applications. These should be in German or English and sent to xr-open-call@htw-berlin.de. Decisions will be made at the beginning of December 2024 and the fellowship is set to start in January 2025.
