Open to both international and US-based artists and curators, non-profit organisation NARS is accepting applications for its 2018 International Residency Program until September 30th. Residencies are from 3 to 6 months in an in-house community of artists in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, and offer applicants 24/7 access to low-cost, furnished, private or semi-private studio spaces (280–325 sq ft), as well as chances for professional development and access to new networks through field trips, studio visits, and shared meals. Selected participants will also be invited to exhibit their work at the NARS Gallery.
Applicants should be emerging or mid-career, and are expected to engage in dialogue with peers and the local community, producing work based on their interactions with New York’s culture and socio-politics. Each month, studios will be visited by 4-6 individuals, and Open Studios will be held biannually.
