Berlin label and party night Creamcake returns with its interdisciplinary symposium
Taking place at aquarium and Südblock on April 13th, 2019, the day- and night-long experimental assembly will investigate what a queer internet might look like. In search of strategies for queering the blurred line between science, music and art, they invite artists, writers, activists, coders, thinkers and scholars to participate in their program.
Rather than being structured like a formal conference for people to present their research, < Interrupted = “Cyfem and Queer" > takes an experimental approach that fosters collaborations on artistic, activist and academic projects, examining the biotechnological and political management of bodies, sex and gender in the digital world. Discussion will focus on approaches to feminist ideas and concepts, developing reading, writing, thinking, performing and sounding practices, as well as other political work.
Creamcake is seeking academic papers and practice-based reflections; presentations, panel and workshop ideas; art and music performance contributions from from emerging artists and researchers. Women, queer, trans and gender non-conforming people, black people and people of color are especially encouraged to apply.
