Printing Plant is calling for independent publishers, artists, art spaces, galleries, university and museum presses, and specialist trade suppliers to submit work for the second edition of the Printing Plant Art Book Fair in Amsterdam. The three-day event is organised by Looiersgracht 60, a non-profit exhibition centre that showcases works of art, design and architecture, during Amsterdam Art Weekend. As the fair aims to re-establish print culture in Amsterdam, it invites applicants to submit unconventional and progressive publications that are generally unavailable in bookstores.
Printing Plant Art Book Fair will take place November 22–24 at Looiersgracht 60 in Amsterdam’s gallery district. Printing Plant will select around 60 applicants to present and sell their work during these days and also invites applicants to submit ideas for the fair’s extensive public programme, which will be curated by Looiersgracht 60. Last year, this included a series of book signings, artists talks and workshops. Selected publishers will also have the opportunity to engage with the public and interact with other members of the print industry.
Whilst the application itself is free, Printing Plant requests a participation contribution from the selected publishers as well as a fee for the stalls, with the exception of individual artists. Publishers must also be present during all three days of the fair.
