The Goldrausch KünstlerInnen Project was created in 1989 to help support and provide the necessary tools, experience, and most importantly financial backing to elevate new women artists. The intent is to fight the structural discriminations and biases towards women in the art sphere. Once again this year, Goldrausch will choose 15 female artists for its 2021 program to help give them the necessary practical skills to thrive in their chosen artistic field.
Goldrausch’s professional development program consists of teaching and training practical matters to propagate one’s artwork. Presentation techniques, communication strategies, public relations, project planning, seminars, knowledge of the art sector all are included in the formative year-long program. This emphasis on practical know-how helps to build on the participants existing artistic practices to help them be independent and successful after the program’s completion. In the end, the chosen women artists will participate in a group exhibition and catalog where they will be able to showcase their artistic efforts and talent. Even after the program’s completion, past participants become part of Goldrausch’s ever-growing network of 350+ previous alumni helping networking in the art world for future advancement.
Goldrausch is thus searching for artists who identify as women and are residents of Berlin, with a good enough grasp of the German language to follow discussions and curriculum material. There is no requirement for age or particular discipline as the program seeks a variety of different artists, though the candidate preferably holds a completed art university degree. The program costs are covered by the Berlin Senate Department for Health, Long-Term-Care, and Gender Equality the European Social Fund (ESF).
