Today marks the beginning of Social Media Week, a global free public conference with over sixty events in twelve cities, including Berlin, discussing the impact of social media on society, culture and business. The last SMW Berlin was in February 2010, which proved to be a success through the growing interest of individuals, corporations, NPOs and other organizations curious to explore just how beneficial social media can be in communicating effectively to specific target audiences both locally and internationally.
As part of Social Media Week Berlin, Artconnect Berlin, a new networking platform for the city’s creative sector, brings together a broad range of panel participants from the city’s expansive art scene for “Art & Social Media”. This panel discussion aims to examine how social media is utilized, as well as the impact it has on the artworld for everything from gallerists, to artists, to publications and independent project spaces.
