Dancers, choreographers, filmmakers and artists are invited to apply with short film-choreographies and dance animations to be featured at this year’s POOL Internationales TanzFilmFestival Berlin scheduled from October 12–15, 2022. Every year the festival presents dance film productions from all over the world, making the event a meeting place for professionals in the fields of dance, film, fashion and advertisement. Rather than focusing on films that document dance, the festival highlights independent film choreographies characterised by the intense interplay between dance and cinematic tools like camera and editing.
Submitted films should be no longer than 30 minutes and not just a documentation of a dance piece. Longer films may also be taken into consideration for a special screening. To apply, applicants should submit a preview link for the jury which can be inserted into the online application form found on the festival’s website.

Successful applicants will be awarded with the PEARLS ARTIST PRIZE that honours the continuous and unique work of the artists in the field of dance film. The available fee of 6000€ will be divided between the selected artists. All selected productions will also be cordially invited to the screenings and get-together afterwards. The festival will support the artists’ travel expenses up to a certain amount and offer free accommodation in the guest rooms of EDEN.
