Berlin Art Week invites those involved in contemporary art in Berlin, including museums and other exhibition institutions, art fairs and galleries, private collections and project spaces to join their 2024 program.
With BAW Featured, each year a selection of special projects is presented as part of Berlin Art Week. The requirement is that the project begins during the festival week or represents a similar program contribution. The choice of participants is up to the discretion of the jury.
In addition to the established group of regular Berlin Art Week participants, the circle of partners is expanded each year with new participants selected by juries and additional special formats.
The prerequisite for participation is a contribution to the contemporary art program. There are no thematic requirements and no limitation to specific media of contemporary art production. The program contributions should begin during Berlin Art Week (September 11-15th, 2024) or represent a special program within the festival week. Openings within the festival week should be free of charge. Programs with durations that start before the festival week as well as purely commercial formats are excluded from participation.
All project organizers from Berlin’s contemporary art scene are invited to submit a contribution. Independent project groups, project spaces and initiatives, small and large art institutions and other actors in contemporary art are eligible to participate. Individual artists are not eligible to participate. There is no entitlement to participation.
