Lee “Scratch” Perry said it aptly: “What I see here is a trip. We are all on a space ship.” In his description of SCRATCH’N’CUT, the exhibition currently on view at MADE, Perry focuses on the transformative and dynamic energy the show radiates, as it is centered around the artistic process of remixing and collaging. The totality of the show is truly greater than the sum of its parts, having emerged from the exchange between a different media, styles, and content.

Curated by Berlin-based artist/curator/editor Lukas Feireiss, SCRATCH’N’CUT brings an international and diverse group of artists, including dub music master Lee “Scratch” Perry (Jamaica), video artist collective Ecelectic Method (US/UK), and installation artists Daniel Gonzalez (Argentina) and Jonas Liveröd (Sweden), into the MADE space in order to make, mix, and clash.
SCRATCH’N’CUT – All Remix Everything
The exhibition rabidly combines music, film, art and architecture in an all-encapsulating spatial installation that aims to dissolve the borders between artist, artwork and audience. With its conceptual hinge of extensive diversity, SCRATCH’N’CUT stands in stark contrast to prevalent intellectual minimalism in the contemporary arts. It consciously turns towards a new, playful eclecticism and emerges as a living product of the creative clash of multiple artistic viewpoints, backgrounds and energies.
About MADE
MADE is a unique creative spot in the heart of Berlin where ideas come to life in an outstanding fashion. MADE allows, and pushes, artists to step out of their artistic routines.
The space, inspired in part by Andy Warhol’s Factory, was conceptualized by German contemporary pop artist tadiROCK, together with Nico Zeh and the team in early 2010, and functions as a platform for artists from various different fields – from contemporary art, to film, to music, to design – offering them the physical location and positive vibes that cultivate creation at its finest.
