Tippi Ling is an agent at Covert Operations who graduated from Deep Spring College, California. She speaks many tongues, and has many faces. She is very glamorous and intelligent, and has a dashing sense of humour!
Su Ling Gyr is a Berlin based artist who created Tippi Ling. After graduating in fashion design from Central St. Martins College in London, she worked as a designer in the fashion industry for over 10 years, while keeping on practicing her art.
Tippi is a spy, an über-cool and stylish character, as well as an art project per se. The project Tippi Ling outlines a universe where femininity and elegance meet humour and wit. Updating her ongoing narrative on her Facebook profile and on Twitter, she uses all the social network’s features to keep her audience informed on her latest adventures. She spies on the world of style, while we spy on her on FB. The result is a tongue in cheek commentary mirroring much of popular culture.

As and extension of her Tippi character, Gyr has designed a new line of limited edition handbags that Tippi personifies. All of Tippi’s secrets are held in a ladies “must-have”: the oh-so mysterious handbag; “the handbag really knows…”
The jet-set lifestyle of a stylized 007 is also Tippi’s: she uses gadgets, and tricks, and vintage technology such as a telefax or morse code; some timeless classics with a very “now” undertone. She talks in rhymes and mottos, as she plays hide-and seek or “chase the enemy”. The whole thing is a bit absurd, yet so kooky it works.
Her new line of collectibles incorporates the art works (paintings) she completed over the last three years in Berlin, into a line of luxury handbags, another Tippi trick, that will be presented at China- white in London, on May 31st.
She is sexy, she is elegant, she is hilarious. Meet Tippi!
