Here are some artwork highlights I’ve come across during my most recent travels to New York. Below are images of New York-based Kathleen Vance (who recently exhibited in two Berlin exhibitions), and the famed German artist, Anselm Kiefer at Gagosian Gallery.

In Anselm Kiefer’s solo exhibition, “Next Year in Jerusalem (Le-shanah ha-ba-a b’Yerushalayim)”, he utilizes such diverse materials as acrylic, ash, cotton dresses, burned books, and plaster coated thorn bushes to illustrate themes of German history and the Holocaust. His works offer an eye-opening and moving experience, typical of the artist’s long respected history of work.
