Calling all artists, architects, filmmakers, musicians, scientists, theorists, and writers! Post your ideas and concepts for a chance to win 15,000 Euros to realize your project, curatorial help from notorious institutions, your work in a major European show, and more. The possibilities for submissions are limitless and the prize epic. Sound too good to be true? There’s a catch. You have to be young. Really, really young. You have to have been born in or after the year 1989 (or in their words, #YoungerThanRihanna).
Do you fit this category?
Apply for DIS Magazine and DIScrit 89plus’ latest project #YoungerThanRihanna.
89plus is an international, multi-platform research project cofounded by Simon Castets and Hans Ulrich Obrist. A mapping of the creative minds of the generation born in or after 1989, it manifests itself through panels, books, periodicals, and exhibitions.
For its current project #YoungerThanRihanna 89plus calls for those born in 1989 or the years after to submit their unique project for a chance to win one of two grants: one by an international jury including among others, representatives from the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo and Serpentine Gallery London. The second grant will be chosen by popular vote facilitated through the DIScrit 89plus website.
Each winner receives a 10,000 Euro stipend plus a 5,000 Euro production budget to realize their project. Access to curatorial teams and mentoring will also be provided. Final work will be presented as part of a major European art event in the fall. In addition, cost of travel and accommodation will be covered in order to take part in the 89plus Marathon, at the Serpentine Gallery in London on October 18-19th 2013.
How to Enter: Sign up and create a Profile here: dismagazine.com/discrit89plus/register. Then submit up to three projects (each can be illustrated with up to five images or videos + descriptions). Keep in mind, your profile can be shared and spread through Facebook and Twitter.
