The Project Space Festival Berlin is announcing its open call for submissions for its second appearance in August 2015. The festival is a month-long event that guides and encourages visitors to discover the radically experimental, independent, and creatively resourceful project spaces of Berlin, which explore alternative means of engaging with the arts than institutional or commercial venues. Project spaces usually work on limited funds to encourage dialogues and community building, tracing and reflecting on cultural issues with an unrestrained curiosity.

Participants in the Project Space Festival Berlin are expected to host one admission-free event for one day in August 2015. With 30 project spaces this will result in 30 days of events, concluding with a final party. Each event can last a maximum of 24 hours on the date assigned to the Project Space. The nature of the event remains open to the host: the festival encourages outdoor performances, musical or culinary get-togethers, or any other unconventional purpose for a gathering, given the possibilities of a typical Berlin August.

The deadline is Feb. 6, 2015. For more information about how to submit, see the Project Space Festival Berlin website
A jury of Ulf Aminde (artist), Kathrin Becker (n.b.k.), Marie Graftieaux (Project Space Festival), Marie-José Ourtilane (General Public), Matthias Reichelt (journalist), will make the selections by early March 2015. Please note that selected project spaces will be asked to contribute 50 €, as the Project Space Festival Berlin is a non-for-profit organization and needs this contribution to realize the event.
