On Sunday I had the pleasure of attending the first installment of Share your Food, an art event with food as the focus point held in Neukölln in a lovely storefront space on Weserstr. The brainchild of Camila Soares, Tainá Guedes and Thomas Meyer, the idea of the event is to “invite you to share with us not only our table, but also something you believe could feed our body and soul, in order to make our world a better place. Out of these donations, made by all of you, our guests, a magazine will be printed.”
The food was created by Tainá Guedes, a Brazilian professional chef trained in Japanese cooking and living in Germany (www.tataiskitchenlab.wordpress.com). In the spirit of sharing the experiences she had throughout the world and keeping with her holistic cooking philosophy, the menu featured an international mix of vegetarian dishes with fresh flavors. Presented with spare elegance and great attention to detail, they encouraged eaters to stop and pay attention to every bite.
The next edition of Share your Food is being planned for the summer and the magazine will be distributed then. More information is available on the website: http://shareyourfood.wordpress.com/.
