The Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart is offering an artist in residence program as part of their new digital art program. The Web Residency has been created in order to nurture and promote the work of new talents in the developing field of digital media. The current call is curated by new media professor Mario Doulis (Merz-Akademie Stuttgart) and focuses on the topic »Re-entering the Ultimate Display.«
The open call welcomes all forms of virtual reality projects by (digital) artists, although scientists (individuals or groups) working in this field are also encouraged to apply. Akademie Schloss Solitude will award three web residents a micro-grant of $500 USD to support the realisation of their projects, which will then be featured on Schlosspost, the institution’s online platform. In addition, a shortlist of the best contributions will also be published.
