Announcement // Gully Havoc ‘Your +1’ Book Launch and Crooked Waves Concert

Article by Alison Hugill in Berlin // Sunday, Jul. 24, 2016

Gully Havoc—a Berlin-based platform for new sound, text and print—will launch its first instalment of an ongoing anthology of international writers in Berlin. The book, titled ‘Your +1’, explores the writing of international visual artists and musicians based in Berlin, who were brought together because of their unique relationship towards language. Their production of visual art and sound has given them non-linguistic possibilities for communicating and their writing, in many cases, mirrors their work as lyricists or artists.

The project is a snapshot of a specific community of writers, working together largely in English and with varying residencies in Berlin. The aim of the anthology is to broaden the scope of writers to include many international voices and languages in future editions. The anthology is edited by Ricardo Domeneck and includes writing by John Holten, Cia Rinne, Travis Jeppesen, Hanne Lippard, Luke Troynar, Adelaide Ivanova, Pär Thörn, Elvia Wilk, Johannes CS Frank, Stine Omar, Shane Anderson, Maya Kuperman, Ann Cotten, Leila Peacock, Érica Zingano, Christian Hawkey, Alex Turgeon, Annika Henderson, Felix Riemann, Jennifer Nelson, Sam Langer, Simen Hagerup, Eirikur Örn Nor∂dahl, Max Oravin, Aleksandr Skidan, Serhiy Zhadan, Pontus Ahlkvist, Black Cracker, Lucy K Shaw, William Zeytounlian and Dmitry Golynko.

On Tuesday, July 26th at 7PM, Gully Havoc will present the book with a series of readings by selected authors at Bierstube Alt Berlin. The event will also include a concert by Crooked Waves.
