Open Call // Montag Modus Performance Series at Collegium Hungaricum Berlin

The Collegium Hungaricum Berlin (CHB) is currently calling for applications for participation in its Montag Modus performance series. Running since May 2015, the bi-monthly series examines performance art and all its facets—particularly the relationship between spectator and performance. There are three performances per event of the series, with the upcoming events planned for October 10 and December 12, 2016.

The theme for the October and December events will be ‘Entropy’: the degree of disorder or randomness that propels changing systems. Such systems can be perceived as those with continuously shifting boundaries shaped by internal forces of evolution: systems of the body, culture, city and universe. Their constant flux pushes them beyond their own outer limits into a state of mutual permeability with other systems, making definitions elusive and identity unstable.

CHB accepts applications from visual and performance artists, including students, for performative productions in various manifestations, including installation, video and dance, among others. Proposed works may be either new or previously performed, but must not exceed a length of 45 minutes. Participants will receive 100–300 Euro for the performance—including production costs—and onsite accommodation will be provided, if needed. CHB will handle communication, organization and photo documentation of the performance, as well as cover technical requirements where possible and with prior coordination.
