Opening on December 9th, the exhibition ‘Art Nomads – Made in the Emirates’ will be presented by Art Nomads at Kunstquartier Bethanien. Initiated by David Szauder, the project ‘Art Nomads’ begins with the inaugural exhibition showcasing the work of emerging and established artists from the United Arab Emirates in Berlin. Subsequent exhibitions will showcase the work of Berlin-based artists abroad.

Including the artists Reem Al Ghaith, Maitha Demithan, Maisoon Al Saleh, Taqwa and Khalid Al Banna, ‘Art Nomads – Made in the Emirates’ introduces work ‘influenced by cultural heritage and visual traditions.’ Regarding these ideas, a symposium will be held on December 10th for a panel discussion on ‘How Culture Builds Cities: Berlin and Abu Dhabi,’ with speakers including art professionals working in and with the United Arab Emirates. The discussion will contribute a deeper context for the artwork on show at ‘Art Nomads – Made in the Emirates,’ sharing with attendees the rapid transformation of Abu Dhabi into a glistening, go-to city for contemporary art.
