Galerie Klubovna is offering a three week residency programme followed by a week-long exhibition in Brno, Czech Republic. The non-profit gallery is seeking proposals from English speaking artists who are currently living in Germany and are working within the themes of ‘migration’ and ‘integration’.
For three weeks during August and September 2017, the selected participant will have the opportunity to work alongside a Czech artist in a provided studio space. Together they will investigate their own personal understanding and experiences of migration and integration. The project aims to present the topic from different perspectives and the interpretations will be displayed in the gallery during a week-long exhibition. The Klubovna gallery will provide the selected participant with travel expenses, an artist fee depending on the given grant, accommodation, 40m2 studio space, assistance, PR aid and access to a range of technical equipments.
Applications are open to all media and visual artists. The applications must be written in English and must include an artist CV, a short cover letter, 10 image examples of previous works including captions and descriptions and a link to the artist website when possible. The applicant must have some form of immigration background and native German artists cannot apply.
Applications should be sent to galerie.klubovna@gmail.com in PDF format and the results will be sent via email during mid April.
